CREATIVE EUROPE Programme of the European Commission provides international professional training opportunities by co-financing over 60 courses in script and project development, management, legal and finance issues, marketing and distribution, new media and new technology, animation and documentaries. The courses share a common goal: the competitiveness of the European film industry.

The State Institute for Culture at the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports and works towards priority delivery of national and international cultural projects and programmes. It offers assistance to Bulgarian projects in their effort to expand the bilateral and multilateral cultural relations and cooperation. It preserves, makes acquisitions and promotes the artwork collection of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria. Along with the Diplomatic Institute it delivers training in the area of cultural diplomacy for young diplomats.

The Goethe-Institut is the Federal Republic of Germany’s cultural institution operational worldwide. Goethe-Institute promotes the study of German abroad and encourage international cultural exchange. With the rich network of Goethe-Instituts, Goethe Centres, cultural societies, reading rooms and exam and language learning centres, Goethe-Institute has played a central role in the cultural and educational policies of Germany for over 60 years.

DokuFest, Prizren, organized by NGO DokuFest, is the largest documentary film event in Kosovo, and one of the largest in the Balkans. It annually gathers over 100 international and regional artists and filmmakers. Along with the competition screenings of the strong international documentary program, DokuFest hosts various parallel events, including workshops, DokuPhoto exhibitions, and concerts.

Dok Leipzig is one of the biggest European international film festival for documentary and animated film that takes place annually in Leipzig, Germany. It was founded in 1955 and was the first independent film festival in East Germany. The International DOK Leipzig Co-Production Meeting is an internationally-renowned platform for producers looking for international co-production partners and financiers for their new film projects in an exclusive and intimate setting.

Filmkontakt Nord (FkN) was established 1991 by the independent Nordic short & documentary film community. Filmkontakt Nord is dedicated to the promotion of Nordic short films and documentaries internationally, strengthening the Nordic-international professional network in order to market and support the Nordic short and documentary sector. FkN engages in a number of industry activities acting as a facilitator and matchmaker when representing the films registered with FkN as well as introducing filmmakers to the international marketplace.

Sarajevo Film Festival is the leading film festival in the region, recognized by both film professionals and the wider audience. The Sarajevo Film Festival is an international film festival with a special focus on the region of South-East Europe, shining an international spotlight on films, talent and future projects from the region. High quality programming, a strong industry segment, an educational and networking platform for young filmmakers and thus generated presence of the international film industry, film authors and media representatives alongside a paying audience of over 100,000, confirm its status as the leading film festival in the region, recognized by both professionals and the wider audiences.

Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival is a celebration of creative documentary film and the greatest event of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe. Documentary films are conceived primarily as unique artworks dealing with significant themes. The industry programme of the festival is one of the most creative and rapidly growing one in Central and Eastern Europe.

Established in 1972 to address the under representation and misrepresentation of women in the media industry, Women Make Movies is a multicultural, multiracial, non-profit media arts organization which facilitates the production, promotion, distribution and exhibition of independent films and videotapes by and about women. The organization provides services to both users and makers of film and video programs, with a special emphasis on supporting work by women of color. Women Make Movies facilitates the development of feminist media through an internationally recognized Distribution Service and a Production Assistance Program.

The Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe is an independent public charity incorporated under the laws of the United States of America. The Trust’s goal is to promote the development of civil societies in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia by supporting civil society organizations to gain greater effectiveness and stability.

The preparatory action MEDIA International aims to explore ways of reinforcing cooperation between European and third-country professionals from the audiovisual industry on a basis of mutual benefit. It also aims to encourage a two-way flow of cinematographic/audiovisual works. MEDIA International is planned to operate for up to three years with a view to paving the way for a broader EU support programme MEDIA Mundus for global cooperation in the audiovisual industry sector.

DocuMentor is the only professional organization of Romanian documentary filmmakers. It brings together the talents from the strong new wave of Romanian docu-authors. As an organisation that supports Romanian documentary filmmakers, as well as hosts seminars of their own, the goals of DocuMentor and BDC are very much in line.

BulDoc is a platform for innovative guerilla Bulgarian films in documetnary style (from actual documentaries to web documentaries, mockumentary, dogmamentary or cin?ma verit?). It will be a medium for targeted promotional and audience strategy, as well as a label of quality and originality, backing Bulgarian productions on the world scene.

Public ROOM is active in Macedonia and in the whole region. Their programs empower the non-profit sector of the region, influence national cultural policies and intensify cooperation in the fields of culture, audio-visual arts and design. Public ROOM also organises programmes and events for professionals, including short-term training courses in areas not offered by the educational programmes in the Balkans, and aims its policies at promoting open and democratic societies.

DOCUMENTARIST – Istanbul Documentary Days is an independent initiative run by a group of young documentary filmmakers. Geared towards the new generation of filmmakers and film students as well as the film lovers, the event is created mainly to support creative documentary filmmaking and to bring the best example of the genre to Istanbul.

Eurasia Art Collective (ASK) is a non-governmental organization dedicated to the task of creating intercultural and interdisciplinary platforms through the organization of cultural studies, educational artistic practice, festivals and contemporary arts events. The Collective has successfully carried out the programming and organization of the Bodrum Film Festival for the last five years, as well as DOCUMENTARIST – Istanbul Documentary Days .
