Registration deadline: 23 February 2018.

One World Romania International Human Rights Documentary Festival invites human rights activists and filmmakers from Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and Republic of Moldova to participate to the third edition of CIVIL SOCIETY PITCH.

It will take part in Bucharest, between 16-18 March 2018, during the 11th edition of the festival (16-25 March 2018).

CIVIL SOCIETY PITCH is a pitching forum for human rights issues to be converted into documentary films. It is an innovative initiative that seeks to create mixed teams of professionals from the documentary film industry and civil society.We encourage new creative films that document local realities from Romania, Republic of Moldova Bulgaria and Hungary. During the previous two editions, we worked with 23 civil society projects and 32 filmmakers.  We will award 4 000 Euro prize for development and production to two winning teams.

For 2018, we extend our pitching, matchmaking & accelerating programme to participants from Bulgaria, Hungary and Republic of Moldova. The entire workshop will be conducted in English.

The workshop’s programme includes a “How to Pitch” seminar organized by experts from the industry in order to help NGOs representatives to prepare their pitches.

The workshop tutors are:

Rada Šešić – documentary film director, programmer for the most important documentary film festivals in The Netherlands – IDFA Amsterdam and IFFR Rotterdam. She is main programmer of Sarajevo Film Festival Documentary Competition Programme.

Maciej Nowicki – Vice President of the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights in Poland and director of WATCH DOCS International Film Festival in Warsaw

For participants outside of Bucharest, One World Romania will offer up to 3 nights of accommodation and subsistence. Participants will have to cover the transport costs.
