Special call for observers, Docu RCB module Budapest

Monday, March 4th, 2019

Sarajevo Film Festival and Balkan Documentary Center are looking to invite Hungarian directors/producers/editors as observers for the upcoming module in Budapest (29th March-3rd April)

Docu Rough Cut Boutique is a major regional program dedicated to documentary projects in the final phases of the editing process. A year 2019 marks a new project’s chapter as the workshop will be organized for the first time with module in Budapest. This additional workshop will bring a greater opportunity to our participants to explore their creative possibilities and to have longer, more in-depth mentoring process.

In addition to the five selected projects, we would like to give the opportunity to two Hungarian filmmakers to take part in our group sessions as observers and meet renowned documentary experts and professionals. The observers will watch the rough cuts of the selected projects and participate in the discussion with the mentors and participants. They will also be invited to our get-togethers.

The level of experience of the applicants should be beginner/intermediate. Our main focus are emerging talents, who can be without any prior experience in the industry or already having some track record (one or two films completed, with festival distribution). Our aim is to give chance to wider variety of filmmakers to have an insight to our workshop and explore the possibilities of the film’s post-production stage.
