WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

WE ARE BALKAN DOCUMENTARY CENTER AND WE SUPPORT DOCUMENTARIES

Since 2010 Balkan Documentary Center (BDC) has established itself among the main facilitators for the documentary scene by providing high-profile training, expert support and networking possibilities for a wide range of professionals. BDC has been recognized from both funders and creators as the innovative link between the Balkan region and the rest of Europe. It is a physical space, a historical building in downtown Sofia, and a virtual network and support system for the documentary sector that is filling a painful niche for fruitful collaborations based on daring stories and unapologetic talent.

Its activities include the highly acclaimed training programs BDC Discoveries, Docu Rough Cut Boutique (in collaboration with Sarajevo Film Festival), Balkan Watchers (for journalistic projects) and the festival Sofia DocuMental.
